Age of Excellence

Becky Zaseck, President / CEO

Becky ZaseckOn March 1, 2007 , Becky Zaseck became the president / CEO of REAL Services.  For the prior 17 years, she directed the part of the agency that serves the aged -- what is known as the Area 2 Agency on Aging.  She actually began working at REAL Services 20 years ago in its programs to serve the needy.

Becky has a Masters in Organizational Management. She served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging and was a member of the Indiana Commission on Autism. Among other noted recognitions, she received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor O'Bannon.

Board Chairwoman JoAnn Burke said the search committee never advertised for applicants. The committee started looking at skills and education that it wanted in a prime candidate, then looked inside.

"Becky just surfaced" as the right one, Burke said. "We needed someone who's particularly tuned to the political situation in the state with privatization."

REAL Services administers 24 programs and serves over 16,000 clients a year, with an annual budget of about $16 million. Some of the services include the Guardianship Program, Meals on Wheels, CHOICE, the Energy Assistance Program and the Weatherization Program.

The programs cover St. Joseph , Elkhart , Marshall and Kosciusko counties, plus Fulton County for services for the needy and LaPorte County for the senior services.
