Northern Indiana has always enjoyed a rich heritage of compassionate volunteerism and human services throughout our communities . . . and for that, we are grateful and celebrating! REAL Services’ Community Action Agency will recognize and highlight current human service efforts to low-income populations by hosting our second annual awards recognition luncheon, “Helping People. Changing Lives.”  We will honor those individuals, agencies, and programs in our five-county service area who exemplify outstanding service to those less fortunate among us.  The theme of this year’s luncheon is “Embracing the Spirit of Hope” and will once again be held at the Gillespie Convention Center near the Saint Mary’s Campus in South Bend on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  We are honored that our keynote speaker will be Mr. Albert Gutierrez, President and CEO of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. 

This is your personal invitation to join us for this heart-warming event.  You can actually kick off the celebration now by:  (1) giving thoughtful consideration to those individuals, agencies, and programs that you know exemplify outstanding service to our low-income populations, (2) nominating them for an award and, of course, (3) joining us for a beautiful awards luncheon!  The nomination categories are:  (a) Agency/Program, (b) Civic/Social or Religious Group, (c) Volunteer of the Year, (d) Educators of Low-Income, and (e) The Sgt. Shriver Lifetime Achievement Award.  You may nominate via mail-in or on-line forms by September 15, 2012.
