Aged and Disabled Medicaid Waiver
This funding is available to people of any age who are a Medicaid Recipient. People who are eligible for this funding source qualify for nursing facility placement, but opt to delay that placement and receive services in their own home.
Individuals must have Medicaid for the aged (Medicaid category A), be blind (Medicaid category B), be on AFDC (Medicaid category C), Med Works, or be determined to be disabled by the Medical Review Team (MRT) by the Medicaid office (Medicaid category D). People who are receiving their Medicaid benefit under Hoosier Healthwise are not eligible to receive Medicaid waiver services, unless their Medicaid category is changed at their request.
- Children, who are under the age of 18, may have their parent’s income discluded on the Medicaid Application. This provision is commonly referred to as Senate Bill 30 exclusion.
- For married adults, Spousal Impoverishment laws may apply during the application for Medicaid. Spousal impoverishment allows for the division of resources between spouses.
Services available under this program include Case Management, Adaptive Aides and Devises, Personal Emergency Response Units, Adult Day Services, Attendant Care, Home Delivered Meals, Home Modifications and Respite Care.
