Age of Excellence

2017 Age of Excellence Awards Luncheon

THANK YOU to our co-host, St. Joseph Health System
and all of our 2017 Age of Excellence Sponsors!

When:  Was held on April 25,2017 , 11:30 – 1:00
Where:  Was held at Century Center, South Bend, IN
Why:  To Celebrate Excellence in Our Community

For 21 years, REAL Services has recognized some very remarkable “ordinary” people who have quietly supported their loved ones and their communities through daily acts of kindness, compassion and selflessness.  This has become “The Luncheon Event of the Year” for northern Indiana with more than 800 people attending last year’s event.

We were pleased that this year’s keynote speaker was Joe Theismann.  Theismann graduated in 1971 from the University of Notre Dame where he received All-America honors and led the Fighting Irish to consecutive Cotton Bowls.  In 2003, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

A 12-year NFL veteran, Theismann led Washington Redskins to a 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII.

After spending two seasons as an NFL analyst for CBS Sports, Theismann has spent the last two decades working for ESPN on their NFL broadcast and the NFL Network.

He was selected as NFL’s “Man of the Year” in 1982 for his community service and dedication to the health and welfare of children.  Recently, Theismann was named the recipient of the 2013 Walter Camp Football Foundation “Distinguished American” Award.

A much sought after motivational speaker, Joe Theismann presented the keynote address:  “REAL Champions”

Equally as compelling were the stories of Age of Excellence award winners.
