On March 1, 2007 , Becky Zaseck became the President and CEO of REAL Services. For the prior 17 years, she directed the part of the agency that serves the aged — what is known as the Area 2 Agency on Aging. She began working for REAL Services in 1986 in its programs to serve the needy.
Becky has a Masters in Organizational Management. She served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Aging and was a member of the Indiana Commission on Autism. Among other noted recognitions, she received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award from Governor O’Bannon, the Trailblazer Award by the Indiana Commission on Women, the YWCA’s Woman of the Year, the Hoosier of Distinction Award from Governor Daniels, the Athena Award from the Chamber of Commerce, and Distinguished Alumnus from Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka.
Then Board Chair JoAnn Burke said the search committee began looking at skills and education that it wanted in a prime candidate. “Becky just surfaced” as the right one, Burke said. “We needed someone who’s particularly tuned to the political situation in the state with privatization.”
REAL Services administers more than 25 programs and serves over 30,000 clients a year in 12 counties across northern Indiana.
